Lot’s wife stands frozen as a pillar of salt while Lot and his daughters flee across the barren ground from the destruction of Sodom. Her raised hand and startled face capture the fatal moment when she looks back, disobeying the angelic warning not to turn toward the condemned city. The scene draws from Genesis 19, where God rescues Lot’s household from judgment, yet Lot’s wife becomes a lasting sign of divided allegiance and the peril of longing for what God has called His people to leave behind.
