Joseph, dressed in Egyptian authority, presents fine garments to his younger brother Benjamin as the family caravan waits with donkeys and camels in the desert road behind them. The exchange follows Joseph’s revelation of his identity to his brothers in Egypt, turning years of betrayal and famine into reconciliation, provision, and mercy. In Genesis 45, Joseph sends his brothers back to Canaan with gifts and supplies, giving Benjamin a special portion as a sign of restored brotherhood and favor. The scene highlights forgiveness expressed through generosity: Joseph does not repay wrongdoing with vengeance, but blesses his family and preserves the covenant line during famine.
