Porta e Deleve

A small flock stands behind a narrow iron gate set between weathered stone walls, with one sheep looking outward through the bars while another rests close behind. The rustic enclosure evokes the biblical language of the sheepfold, where the gate marks protection, belonging, and the shepherd’s care over the flock.

In Christian teaching, the image naturally points to Jesus the Good Shepherd, who says, “I am the door of the sheep.” The closed gate becomes a symbol of guarded refuge rather than exclusion: the sheep are kept within the safety of the fold, watched over and preserved from danger.
